The American Idol siren is undoubtedly America's first idol. Her undeniable singing talent helped bring the show prominence and respectability. Clarkson's work ethic, middle class roots and charismatic personality made her a fan favorite from early on. From Idol, Clarkson went on to create Thankful. The album produced "A Moment Like This" and "Miss Independent" as early hits. For her second album, the well-received Breakaway, Clarkson broke from her manager, American Idol guru Simon Fuller. Songs "Since U Been Gone", "Breakaway", "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Because of You" earned her two Grammy awards. Clarkson's latest album My December was released in 2007. She is a spokesperson for Proactiv.
