A stage veteran, Walsh was first introduced to the small screen, appearing as Niki Fifer, Drew Carey`s fat-suit-wearing girlfriend on The Drew Carey Show. After that she was cast in the HBO series The Mind of the Married Man, and then The Norm Show. She got her big break on the ABC series Grey`s Anatomy playing Dr. Addison Montgomery. Walsh decided to leave the successful show to star in a spin-off series Private Practice. She quietly married her boyfriend Alex Young in 2007.
