The prettiest punk princess is none other than Avril Lavigne. The Canadian rocker broke into the music big-time in 2002 with Let Go. This first album primarily consisted of well-written teen ballads like I'm With You, Complicated and Let Go. Foiled against Lavigne's lyrics was her image: a snotty wild-child who started fights with her contemporaries like Hilary Duff, spit on fans and rejected conventional style. With the releases of Lavigne's second and third albums Under My Skin and The Best Damn Thing, Lavigne showed she was growing into herself. The poppy ???Girlfriend reached number one on the Billboard top 100. Lavigne married fellow Canadian and Sum41 singer Deryck Whibley in 2006. She co-wrote Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway. Lavigne lent her voice to the animated hit Over the Hedge.
