The launch of the Sex and the City: The Movie DVD brought out yet another HUGE crowd, not to mention all those loyal fans. NYC's iconic library was illuminated in pink, the lions were pink, who are we kidding, everything was pink! Bryant Park was a sight to see, especially with the 10-ft model wearing the oh-so-gorgeous Vivienne Westwood-esque wedding gown on the front steps. From SJP and Candace Bushnell, to the adorable Lynn Cohen (Magda) excitedly explaining how proud her husband was that she was in heels, the sparkle of the pink carpet was abuzz. The three lovely ladies (Kristin Davis was a no-show) the man behind the cosmos himself, Michael Patrick King, and Carrie Bradshaw's right-hand man, Willie Garson, had a few things to say regarding a sequel, adoption, and why Samantha should stay single.

Clad in bright pink Alexander McQueen shoes and black dress, vintage lace gloves, dripping in Fred Leighton jewels, Sarah Jessica Parker had a little bit of everything to say when it came to Candace Bushnell's new "The Carrie Diaries," the SATC tour bus route and a much-talked about sequel.
How excited are you tonight? It’s very exciting, very exciting! I’m thrilled anybody showed up.
You live in the midst of the Sex and the City tour bus group, have you ever had any crazy fan encounters? Numerous! (With a laugh) Numerous! I don’t have any particular story, everybody is really nice, very sweet. I happened to run into a large group, very enthusiastic and I was literally running to an appointment, so I didn’t get to spend as much time with them as I had hoped, but everybody is always very sweet. It’s pretty funny, I can’t believe I live right there. It’s sort of odd, but very sweet.
How do you think your character in Candace Bushnell’s book will be? I don’t know. She’s such a good storyteller, and she knows Carrie so well. I’m extremely excited to see what she writes.
Your thoughts on a sequel? I think that there’s always a chance if we can tell a story that’s worthy of a sequel. This audience has really responded.
What’s the biggest challenge you’ll face if you decide to do a sequel? I think the biggest challenge is storytelling. And that’s why Michael and I haven’t discussed it yet. We haven’t had that conversation. We will have that conversation sooner than later. It’s all about story. If we can’t tell a story really worthy of an audience, then we won’t do it. And we’ve been really lucky up to this point and we’ve been in your good graces for a long time. We take that very seriously. That’s the biggest challenge is the story. It’s always about the story.

How Michael Patrick King's thoughts differed from those of the fans:
"When we finished filming the movie, we were done, but the fans were like 'no you’re not.'"
Cynthia Nixon, what would you love to see Miranda do in a sequel for SATC? "I would love to see her and Carrie and Charlotte and Samantha all go off on some wild adventure somewhere."
Willie Garson:
How is the adoption process going? "I don’t have the kid yet, so I’m waiting for the child. And the first pictures of me and the child are sold to OK! magazine. I’m ready, I went through the whole process. It was very tedious, as it should be, but the house is ready, the nanny is ready, the school is ready, the doctor is ready, everything is ready."
What most excites you about becoming a dad? "Having that energy around me all the time and especially adopting a kid is, I’m hopefully, I’m gonna try with all my life to give the kid a great life. It’s all gonna be about the kid. We, actors, are very self-absorbed people, and I’m bored to tears with myself. And I’m ready to give it to a child."
Are you going to give the money to charity that you get from the pictures? "The pictures from Ok!, right now, are going to be for college. As much as it seems we are all billionaires, we are not. Warner Bros is doing ok, and we are doing fine, but my kid is going to do ok, it’s going to be great."
Switching gears -
What do you think Carrie Bradshaw would be like as a teenager? "I think a smart girl. And more of a studious girl than like the big party girl. I think to get to the point where Carrie is, when we knew her, a lot of reading had to have gone on. She’s plugged in, she has a good sense of people, so it’ll be interesting to see if Candace does that."

Kim Cattrall, on her four-legged, costar: "We had such a good time. Unfortunately we would always have to do her close-up first because we didn’t want to tire her out. Then she would go sit for a period of time and get freshened up.
Have you seen her since the movie? "No I miss her! She was such a sweet girl, really a sweet girl!"
Do you miss having Patricia Field telling you what to wear? You know, everytime I see Pat, I say, ‘What do you think? Do you like it, do you like it?’ (Imitating Patricia Field's voice) ‘I like it, it’s good. I like the purse better than the last purse.’ She’s always checking in, she’s always chiming in. ‘That’s fierce girl, fierce!’"
Which young actress would you like to play you in the “The Carrie Diaries” if it becomes a TV show? "That would be difficult. There’s a young actress called Carey Mulligan who is just about to star in Broadway. She played my daughter in a PBS film that I did. She’s gorgeous and wonderful and sexy in her own way. I would love it if she would do me. I don’t know if she would. Do Samantha, not me."
Would you make an appearance in the show? "I think it’s a brilliant idea. I’m so happy that Candace is coming back to these characters in her own way. She’s such a wonderful writer, I’m so happy for her success for Lipstick Jungle."
What do you hope for your character in a sequel? "Well she’s single so the sky is the limit. I love Samantha single. She has way too much fun!"
Ah, to be in the presence of the girls yet again. Look out world, we have a feeling SATC is NEVER going to back down. And that would just be fabulous!
